Database
of Human Rights Violations
The database registers, documents, systematizes, and diffuses the violations
of fundamental Human Rights in Colombia.
The keeping of a database, contributes to the recovery of the historical
memory and the preservation of the victims, their families, society
in general, and the truth; its results also provide an important record
for social sciences as well as social movements, as they make possible
a comparative study of the dimensions, characteristics, tendencies and,
responsibilities of Human Rights violations.
The investigation "Dig and keep silence" of Colombia's massacres
between 1980 and 1993 reflects the importance of the database to the
CPDH's work.
