The defense and protection of the integrity of Human Rights, the pursuit of a political solution to the social and armed conflict and of peace, are the main objectives of the CPDH. Consequently, it devises the following specific objectives:

a) Record, organize, analyze, and diffuse information regarding Human Rights violations.
b) Provide support to the victims of violations and their relatives.
c) Facilitate the intervention of the International Community in action for the integrity of Human Rights in the country.
d) Promote organized participation from civilians for the defense of Human Rights and the exercise of peace.
e) Press for dialogue and negotiation to overcome the social and armed conflict and the construction of peace based on social justice.
